I finally got around to cleaning out my headphone amplifier today. There was some dust in the volume potentiometer which was creating a hissing sound when adjusting the volume. Some contact cleaner has it better than new. While I had it open I thought I would take a picture to share.

I hate to imagine all dust and grime in all my electronics! Goes along with the rest of the house!

I’m catching up with your recent posts. Love the insect photos. You may have told me this before, but what kind of lens are you using? I like the narrow depth of field — are you using a telephoto lens? As for the electronics — I didn’t know that headphones had amps! I just plug into the computer. (But then I’m only using Apple earbuds.) Anyway, keep those posts coming.

Most of the insect photos I attribute to extension tubes, which also shorten the depth of field -> https://aclashofcoasts.com/2020/07/02/shooting-macro/
This headphone amplifier is probably overkill. In general they are used for larger, high impedance, headphones; which require more power to drive.
